Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing criminal enterprises in the world. However, so much of the information you hear is inaccurate, and it can be dangerous to spread incorrect information.
For 10 years, the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute hosted a one-day summit for high school students to educate them about human trafficking and social justice. However, since the pandemic, we noticed an increasing need for access to pre-recorded videos for students and teachers to use on their own schedule. This led to the creation of the High School Online Program (HSOP) to educate youth on trafficking and other social justice topics when they are ready to learn about it.
This educational program will cover topics including types of trafficking, what to do if you think someone is at risk of trafficking, survivor stories, and related topics that youth might experience such as social media safety, sexual assault, substance abuse, and gun violence.
We hope to continue to add on to these modules and update them as new information comes to light. We hope you enjoy HSOP and learn more about the existence, risks, and realities of human trafficking and other topics.
Trigger Warning!
We understand that many of these topics are difficult to hear and discuss. If you need to take a break please do. The following topics will be discussed: sexual assault, gun violence, addiction, trafficking, abuse, racism, homophobia, and more.
